Tomb Raider: E3 2012 Crossroads Trailer Unveiled; Arriving In March 5, 2013

Developer Crystal Dynamics and Publisher Square Enix have unveiled the full new “Crossroads” E3 trailer for “Tomb Raider.”

This is a major breakthrough in any further news for the game. The last time the game came into limelight was when it was announced that the game’s release date would be held back for an undecided period of time in the first quarter of 2013. The game was originally scheduled for a release in Fall 2012.

“We’re doing things that are completely new to Tomb Raider in this game and the additional development time will allow us to put the finishing touches into the game and polish it to a level that you deserve. We believe this is the right choice and I guarantee it will be worth the wait,” said Darrell Gallagher, head of studio at Crystal Dynamics. “The game is looking amazing and we can't wait to show it to everyone at E3 in a few weeks.”

Gallagher also said that Crystal Dynamics had a two-fold goal for the new Tomb Raider which they were really passionate about. The first was to create a modern Tomb Raider game that would surprise and excite gamers and the second was to make it the best game of the team’s career. Gallagher believed that the team has something special on its hands and it’s just a matter of time before it is officially released.

“Our priority now is to make sure we fully deliver the very highest quality game. In order to do this, we have decided to move the game’s release date by a few months, from Fall 2012 to the first quarter of 2013,” Gallagher added.

According to the game’s official web page, “Tomb Raider explores the intense and gritty origin story of Lara Croft and her ascent from a frightened young woman to a hardened survivor. Armed only with raw instincts and the ability to push beyond the limits of human endurance, Lara must fight to unravel the dark history of a forgotten island to escape its relentless hold.”

The game is now set to arrive on March 5, 2013, on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
