For nearly three years now, F1 superstar Michael Schumacher has been in a dreadful state in life due to his accident last December 2013. His peers and fans, however, have not forgotten about him and recently held a football match in his honor.
A football match called the "Champions for Charity" was held in Germany wherein some of the world's top F1 superstars gathered in tribute for Michael Schumacher. Michael had a skiing accident in the French Alps almost three years ago and has been fighting for his life since then.
According to Mirror, among the players present during the match were Sebastian Vettel, Nico Rosberg, Fernando Alonso and Daniel Riccardo. They were also joined by Michael Schumacher's son, Mick Schumacher. The 17-year-old was a seven-time world champion in F4 racing.
The F1 superstars played with other sporting champions as well, including Dirk Nowitzki. The event was also held to raise awareness for other charities such as the Dirk Nowitzki Foundation and BasKIDball.
Michael Schumacher's current state is very much a mystery to all if his fans, since his family has been very clear about keeping Michael's condition away from the media. Their wishes were very well accepted as people continue to pray for his recovery.
Christian Today reported that his recovery is progressing with the help of therapy, and can reportedly start to walk already. However, this recent progress in his recovery has not been confirmed by his family or his manager, Sabine Kehm.
Michael was sent to his hometown in Switzerland and deal with his recovery there. He has been living a private life since the accident, despite being a widely known F1 superstar. Michael's manager Kehm once said that in a conversation with the former, he said that he is disappearing from everyone.
His wishes of being kept private have been honoured while his friends and fans continue to support him in his recovery.
