"Supernatural" writer and creator Eric Kripke has a new show on the line entitled "Timeless" and fans of his other series should definitely watch out for his new and upcoming one. There is a new journey and new adventures for the viewers to look forward to.
Eric Kripke created "Supernatural" eleven years ago and it has been well received by the audience. Now, he has created a new show alongside creator of "The Shield," Shawn Ryan, as reported by Collider. During an interview with Kripke, he explained why "Supernatural" fans should check out "Timeless" and adore it just as much.
According to Kripke, "Timeless" is a story of characters that get to travel to amazing periods of history and meet amazing characters. Just like in "Supernatural," the characters in "Timeless" will make deep philosophical points, be involved in discussions whether it is applicable or not to change one's history and see the impact it makes on the present, as well as the future.
Hollywood Reporter said that NBC's "Timeless" is taking on a negative view of history, and the creators are not going to sugarcoat it in any way. In a unique way to separate "Timeless" from any other time-traveling show, they do not celebrate on history but rather critique it for the reality that it is.
During the Television Critics Association's press tour, Kripke pointed out that one of the show's key characters is a black man, Rufus to be played by actor Malcolm Barrett. It will show how the black people were realistically treated back in the day, "The reality is he's going to face all sorts of racism in the periods he is at," Kripke described.
Kripke also admitted that it was indeed the intention of the writers of "Timeless" to criticize history, focusing on the untold stories of the past that have been negated out of the stories. There is still so much to tell about the minority perspective, and female perspective that need to be said out there in the world.
