'Wayward Pines' Season 3 News & Updates: Is The Show Really Canceled Or Not?

"Wayward Pines" is still on the edge of being renewed for its third season. Its second season finale got a lower percentage of viewers which has allegedly led the creators to have second thoughts about producing season three.

Despite the news that "Wayward Pines" is likely to be cancelled by FOX, fans of the show are still hopeful that it will be renewed for a third season. Some of the fans even listed down reasons as to why the show shouldn't be cancelled, since there is still a lot to know about the show's storyline.

According to Movie News Guide, "Wayward Pines" ended its second season on multiple cliffhangers. Thus, fans believe it is not fair that the series will just end at that point. One of its cliffhangers was when a new aberration baby was born, otherwise known as an Abby. This indicated that Abbies are definitely evolving.

Other than that, the residents of Wayward Pines also fell into a deep sleep leaving the viewers out of the light as to what the residents' fate will be. With the finale of season two ending with a number of unresolved issues, fans believe that there is still a lot more to explore in the show.

Vine Report also reported that season two's ending told a message about what the third season of "Wayward Pines" will be provided it gets renewed for its third season. The upcoming new season will allegedly focus on how the residents will be wiped out from their land.

Only FOX can determine whether or not the show will be renewed for a third season, especially since its ratings dropped significantly during the seacond season, all the way to its finale. Nevertheless, with fans clamoring for the show to be renewed, "Wayward Pines" might still have a fighting chance.
