'Marvel Rivals' to Add More X-Men Characters; New Leaks Reveal Upcoming Heroes

It's time for the mutants to shine in "Marvel Rivals."

Marvel Rivals

The universe created by Marvel Comics has been adapted into various games, movies, and series over the years. The latest title to showcase this vast world is "Marvel Rivals," a popular arena shooter, which is now expanding its roster with more X-Men characters. The X-Men have long been one of the most iconic and beloved superhero groups, and their inclusion in the game is a much-anticipated addition for fans.

With its partnership with Marvel, "Marvel Rivals" offers a massive opportunity to feature numerous characters. The game initially launched with a roster of 33 characters, and now, new leaks suggest that more X-Men mutants will soon join the fray.

New X-Men Characters Leaked for 'Marvel Rivals'

A recent leak from XOXLEAK (via ComicBook Gaming) has revealed new details about the upcoming characters in "Marvel Rivals," focusing on the renowned X-Men team. While the game already features a diverse range of Marvel heroes and villains, the developers are reportedly looking to expand the X-Men presence.

Currently, seven X-Men characters are available for players, including Storm, Wolverine, Psylocke, Magneto, Magik, the Scarlet Witch, and Cloak & Dagger. However, the leak suggests that more mutants will be added to the game soon, with the original X-Men cast — beyond Storm — yet to make an appearance.

What to Expect from Upcoming X-Men Characters

According to the leak, three key characters — who were once adversaries of the X-Men but later became members of the group — are set to join the game. Gambit, who will be a Duelist, Rogue, a Strategist, and Jubilee, whose role remains unconfirmed, are expected to appear soon.

In addition, earlier leaks have hinted that Beast will also join the roster as a Vanguard, while Nightcrawler will be introduced as another Duelist.

'Marvel Rivals' Continues to Gain Popularity

Since its release in late 2024, "Marvel Rivals" has gained significant popularity, becoming one of the most-played games in its genre. Critics have praised the game for capturing the gritty, team-based action that has been lacking in the industry. As a free-to-play (F2P) title, "Marvel Rivals" attracted millions of players without the need for an upfront purchase, with NetEase Games and Marvel reporting over 10 million players within the first three days of release.

Developers have assured players that "Marvel Rivals" will not adopt a "pay-to-win" model, which is a common issue with many F2P games. They also emphasized that players will not be restricted to role queues during matches. Despite its strong launch, NetEase is committed to expanding the game, with future seasons expected to bring more exciting characters, including a larger focus on the X-Men.
