‘Pokemon Go’ Updates: Skiplagged Last Remaining Third Party Tracker?

"Pokemon Go" players have lost the services of numerous third party trackers after Niantic did a recent update of the game. Fortunately, Skiplagged may hopefully fill the void left by the others.

Skiplagged does not directly advertise itself as a "Pokemon Go" tracker, according to Express. Instead the site appears as a travel and hotel service locator. Veteran "Pokemon Go" players will instantly recognize the map as similar to the ones Pokevision and other third party sites regularly feature in finding Pokemon.

The recent Niantic update has caused widespread discontent among players of "Pokemon Go." Tracking down the creatures was made more difficult when the in-game footstep mechanism was removed. Niantic has also threatened Pokevision and other tracking sites to shut down.

A large number of "Pokemon Go" players have aired their grievances to Niantic through various social media sites. Many are threatening to quit the game unless something is done to undo the damages by Niantic's latest update, according to an earlier iTech Post report.

The mobile game app developer did respond to the players' outcries through its official site. Niantic blamed the third party trackers for the slowdown and even crashing of its servers. The shutdown of the outside trackers has also prevented cheating in the game. Niantic also blamed the third party sites for hampering their plans in rolling out the "Pokemon Go" game in other countries such as Brazil.

"Pokemon Go" players will have to be patient with Skiplagged though. The map is still new and not all areas are covered yet. The site owners promised that they are still working on the maps. Players are advised to wait for their updates via Twitter.

Niantic did improve some features in "Pokemon Go" such as the customization of the players' avatars, adjustment of the damages and the fixing of certain bugs and texts within the game.
