Samsung has finally announced the newest addition in their family of Android-based Galaxy smartphone, the 5.7 inch phablet Samsung Galaxy Note 7. The device's release had been the hottest topic for many months now and people are anticipating when will be the exact date of its release. But now, the tech giant finally unpacks it at a special event held in New York on August 2.

Some tech experts were a bit shocked during Samsung's announcement of Galaxy Note 7 when it appears that the company only reveals one storage variant for the new phablet with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. But heavy rumors are spreading that a 128GB model with 6GB of RAM may exist but there are no specific details of when and where will be the release of the rumored variant.

As what the experts forecasted, Samsung Galaxy Note7 comes with a Super AMOLED setup with a QHD resolution. Samsung has also rented some techniques from its 4K TV business, known as the HDR mode which enables more vivid color and contrast presets.

Its overall design is pretty much the same to the Galaxy S7 series but a bit more squared and angular in places. Available in gold, silver or black color options and introducing the new blue coral color that highlights gold trim instead of silver. Note7 brings back the fingerprint scanner Home key. Leaks also shows the new iris scanner located on the phone's frontage. This enables users to unlock their device by lining their eye inside an on-screen circle.

Samsung Galaxy Note7 runs on the usual Snapdragon 820 with 4GB of RAM. On top of that, it runs on Android 6.0.1 and is expected to have a Nougat update by the end of Q1 2017 as per reports from Popular Mechanics. A modification on the Air Command radial menu had also been revealed. It now includes three now functions; Magnify, Translate and Glance. The phablet offers a more conservative 12 megapixel primary with dual-pixel phase detection and autofocus with a 5 megapixel back. Its battery life comes with a sizeable 3,500mAh setup, not quite impressive from the rumored 4,000mAh.

The Samsung Galaxy Note7 will be available for pre-order starting August 3 while it is available in retail on August 19 both in the UK and US with a price ranging from $850-880 (€799-€900).
