2016 MacBook Pro Confirmed To Arrive This Fall With At Least Two Major Upgrades

The 2016 MacBook Pro is expected to arrive with several new upgrades and features. Partially because it has been a while since the series received a facelift and partially because Apple will not let itself fall behind from its competitors.

According to BGR, the upcoming 2016 MacBook Pro is estimated to arrive in the Fall, thinner and lighter than it has been before. In fact, the item is rumored to be thinner and lighter than even the MacBook Air. In addition, the upcoming MacBook will arrive with two particularly new features. That is, a Touch ID power button and an OLED touch-sensitive row of function keys.

The OLED touch bar, as reported by Fortune, will rest above the keyboard. With this placement, users will be able to access the feature keys with ease. What the feature bar will hold is, at this point, still unknown. However, it is likely to sport a number of functions and notifications that users most often check.

On the other hand, the Touch ID is likely to be on the 2016 MacBook Pro's main power button. While the publication argues that the Touch ID is not exactly a huge step up, it would still be a welcome change.

After all, several of Apple's competitors have already adopted this type of technology. Lenovo and other Windows PC manufacturers have been giving users the option of biometric unlocking for a while now.

The technology is readily available in Apple. After all, the same thing has been applied to their iPhone series. The question is just whether or not the Cupertino-based company will incorporate the same into the upcoming notebook.

Another feature that is speculated to arrive in the 2016 MacBook Pro are four USB Type-C ports. On the other hand, it may no longer sport the MagSafe charging port.
