With "The Vampire Diaries" coming to an end, fans of the show are eager to get the actress, Nina Dobrev to make at least a cameo appearance for their finale. However, Nina's ex-boyfriend, Ian Somerhalder, who plays Damon on the show, does not want the actress back for the finale.
There have been unending speculations that actor Ian Somerhalder and wife Nikki Reed had been having marital problems. This is allegedly caused by the mere existence of Ian's ex-girlfriend, Nina Dobrev, who happens to have exited the show "The Vampire Diaries" because of their failed relationship.
Now that the show is about to end, "The Vampire Diaries" showrunner Julie Plec kept on saying that Nina made a promise to return to the show for its finale. Ian, on the other hand, wants no involvement with the actress on the show ever again, as reported by Celebrity Dirty Laundry.
This has then allegedly caused a rift between Somerhalder and Plec, who are speculated to have discussed the matter already, according to Movie News Guide. Somerhalder has been clear about his statement that the return of Dobrev to reprise her role on the show is no longer necessary, not even for its finale.
"The Vampire Diaries" actor's strong stance on not wanting Dobrev come back to the show is allegedly caused by his wife's jealousy over the actress, which was also allegedly the reason why Dobrev exited the series in the first place. Dobrev was reportedly uncomfortable shooting scenes with her ex-boyfriend, while Somerhalder's wife, Nikki, was on set watching them.
The rift between the two actresses has been an issue going around since Somerhalder wedded Nikki. This has then led to Somerhalder strongly insisting that it is not necessary for Dobrev to come back to the series, despite whatever promise she may have made.
However, to the actor's dismay, he does not decide who comes back and who doesn't for the finale of "The Vampire Diaries" series finale.
