New iPhone 7 rumors are circulating on the Internet. Unfortunately, some of them have been exposed as fakes. It seems reports that the upcoming Apple smartphone will have 3 GB of RAM and A10 chips are simply not true.
Recently, an alleged iPhone 7 Geekbench result was published. The supposed test showed the upcoming iPhone model featuring 3 GB of RAM and a dual-core processor running at 2.37 GHz. However, John Poole, the head of Primate Labs declared that the Geekbench iPhone 7 tests are merely fabrications, according to Mac Rumors.
The current iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s Plus only have 2 GB of RAM. However, numerous online postings insist that the upcoming iPhone 7 lines will feature and additional 1 GB of RAM. Ming-Chi Kuo, who works with KGI Securities, was one of the first to spread such claims.
There have been doubts about the 3 GB RAM rumors, even though it is possible that the bigger iPhone 7s Plus can have such feature. But this is stille mere speculation at this point.
The alleged performance of the A-10 chip in the upcoming iPhone 7 would have indicated its performance superiority over the current iPhone model. But since its single-core and double-core have been exposed as fakes, there is no way to know if the processor of the iPhone 7 is indeed more powerful than the iPhone 6S.
The fake Geekbench report originated from Weibo which is a China-based microblog site. Most of the Apple product leaks originate from that country. This is because most Apple suppliers are from China who may have wittingly or unwittingly leak their products on the Internet. One rumor that seems certain right now is the absence of the 3.5 mm headphone jack port, according to Bloomberg.
It is expected that Apple is about to announce the launch date of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus this September. Much of its specs and features have yet to be officially released, according to an earlier iTech Post report.
