After a new trailer was released for "Arrow" season 5, more fans became excited about the release of the series' fifth season premiere. To add to the excitement, a new group of vigilantes and a new major villain will be introduced as well.
The team of Oliver Queen looks a lot different now, especially with most of its former members being away and out of Team Arrow. Diggle will be back on military and Oliver's sister, Thea, is sure about not being part of the team anymore. Felicity is now the only one left by Oliver's side as they both fight the villains of Star City.
Since Oliver Queen is now the mayor of Star City, it will be harder for him to balance his political aspirations and vigilante activities. According to International Business Times, Oliver from "Arrow" will have to teach and train a new team of vigilantes. Even though it is obvious how Oliver is not happy about training a new team, he will have to.
There have also been reports of a new villain entering the fifth season and it has recently been confirmed which actor will portray the role. Mirror reported that actor Dolph Lundgren will be returning to television from the big screens, playing the new major villain of "Arrow" season 5.
Lundgren will be playing the role of the head of the Russian mob, known as the Bratva. This was confirmed by Wendy Mericle during the Television Critics Association press tour. She said that he will be appearing throughout the flashbacks for the entire season.
It has also been confirmed that throughout the course of the series, the upcoming fifth season will be the last one to show flashbacks. Hence, the life of Oliver before he came back from the island will finally be completely told.
The flashbacks will hopefully tie up how Oliver got to Lian Yu and return to Starling City thereafter.
