Just a few months away from releasing Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Infinity Ward, the developer behind the game, is looking to hype things up. The much talked about Zombies mode is believed to be unveiled next week. And if anything, it is likely to be pointing at a Gamescom 2016 reveal.
According to GameSpot, the studio is looking to unveil more details about the aforementioned Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare mode particularly on Tuesday, August 16. It rooted from a tweet shared via the game's official Twitter account, stating that "it's almost time for the big premier."
As for the line "grab the popcorn" in the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare tweet, it is pretty much interesting. It should be noted that the previous teasers for the upcoming title's Zombies mode featured a popcorn as well as a film reel. These were all released way back in May this year.
The Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare image released way back then showcased what appears to be a film reel, with a handful of popcorn and some blood stains. The frame, in particular, displayed "19-ATVI-85," with ATVI representing Activision's stock symbol. Reports suggest that the figure 19 and 85 (1985) could be a nod to a certain time period, something that has yet to be confirmed. As a matter of fact, Zombies mode in the previous installments all took place in the past. And this could be the same with the forthcoming title, despite having a futuristic setting.
Express, on the other hand, notes that the scheduled big Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare reveal is also on target for Gamescom 2016 at Cologne. This, in one way or another, suggests that the title will be going up against other huge first-person games later this year.
Apart from Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Gamescom is also expected to showcase the likes of Titanfall 2, Destiny: Rise of Iron and Battlefield 1. Activision's next Call of Duty title is slated for a November 4 release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
