As one of the 2016 Nexus phones from Google, the HTC Sailfish is one of the most anticipated additions to the smartphone market. And it is because of this anticipation that its specs, features and design have been long-awaited. Fortunately, a photo of the handset was recently released that confirmed some of the initial claims on it.
WCCF Tech notes that the photo confirms that the HTC Sailfish will have a glass back with a metal frame, as seen on its sides. There is also a fingerprint scanner on the device, located at the back portion of the phone. The 2016 Nexus phone will reportedly come with gestural recognition as well, meaning users will have easy access to different features like the notification menu and camera, depending on how the sensor is swiped.
Meanwhile, Android Police adds that while there is a glass back, the body will be built on a majorly metallic design. Either way, the photo disproves any claim that the unit will be made of plastic.
Because both the 2016 Nexus Phones are expected only to differ in size, battery capacity and resolution, the design of the HTC Marlin is expected to be the same.
Both units are estimated to run on 4 GB of RAM on the upcoming Android Nougat 7.0, with the help of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor. The processor has not made its debut on a handset yet, which would make the Google 2016 Nexus phones more powerful than current smartphone devices.
The HTC Sailfish and HTC Marlin are also expected to come with a 12-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front camera. They will also have 32 GB and 126 GB options for internal storage.
The difference, however, is that the HTC Marlin will have a 5.5-inch screen, while the smaller Nexus phone will be 5 inches. The HTC Sailfish is expected to come with a 3000mAh battery, which would mean that the HTC Marlin will have a more powerful one.
