Square Enix Announces 'Final Fantasy XV' Release Moved To November 29

Final Fantasy XV's release date has been moved to November 29 instead of the scheduled launch on September 30 as reported by Gamespot.

Square Enix, the popular Japanese video game publishing company notoriously known for their role-playing games such as "Kingdom Hearts," "Dragon Quest," and of course the "Final Fantasy" series, has released a statement of why they chose to delay the "FFXV" launch.

In a video posted in YouTube, "Final Fantasy XV" Game Director Hajime Tabata announced, "From the moment we joined this project, our vision was to create a level of freedom and realism previously unseen in the series. Regrettably, we need a little bit more time to deliver on this vision and are confident that this new release date will help us achieve this."

"As the director and lead of this project, I wish to personally apologize for the additional wait. As a team, we want Final Fantasy XV to achieve a level of perfection that our fans deserve. We kindly ask for your understanding," he continued.

Habata also added that the "Final Fantasy XV" team had already created the master version of the game and is now engaged in doing a patch. He confirmed that FFXV delayed release date was due to the fact that they believe the patch should come with the game when shipped, instead of a separate downloadable content.

The FFXV delay was first rumored last Friday when Gamnesia reported that "a source within GameStop management has tipped us off that Square Enix has delayed the game until November 29th." The article even mentioned that the delay would be announced either on Aug. 14 or 15.

Due to his announcement, Ben Lamoreux, the Gamnesia reporter, received massive unpleasant comments from both readers and hardcore "Final Fantasy" fans.

On the other hand, Square Enix has confirmed that "Kingslaive: Final Fantasy XV" film's release date has not been adjusted from its original schedule. The upcoming "Final Fantasy" movie will come to theaters on August 19.
