With the recent release of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and the upcoming release of the iPhone 7, many could argue that the 2016 smartphone market has been sealed shut. And yet, there is one particular player that is gearing up to face the two smartphone favorites - the Huawei Honor 8.
According to Green Bot, the Honor 8 is the Huawei's first true flagship in the US. The publication also claims that the unit is geared towards the younger generation. With its premium specs, stunning design and relatively lower price, the Honor 8 could very well be the option for plenty of young adults.
Honor 8 Specifications
As Droid-Life confirms, the Honor 8 has a 5.2-inch FHD display and is powered by Huawei's own HiSilicon Kirin 950 octa-core processor. The unit also runs smoothly with 4GB of RAM and at least 32GB of internal storage.
The unit sports a 12-megapixel dual camera at the back, which reportedly captures 3x more light than a single lens. One of the cameras is an RGB plus one monochrome sensor, while the other is 1.25 μm in pixel size.
Huawei's Software
The Honor 8 will run on the Huawei Emotion UI 4.1, above and beyond the installed Android 6.0 Marshmallow. What this means is that it does not run on Android alone, but is all in all still easy to navigate.
The device, when bought in the US, comes unlocked.
Honor 8 Design
The new flagship from Huawei comes in three stunning colors - Sapphire Blue, Pearl White and Midnight Black. The unit itself is thin to the touch and sports a fingerprint scanner at the back.
Huawei's Honor 8 Price Tag
The 32 GB variant of the Honor 8 sells for $399, while the 64 GB model is priced at $499.
