AT&T, T-Mobile And Sprint Resurrect Unlimited Data Plans; Which One Saves You Money?

AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint have unleashed their own unlimited data plans. Prospective customers only have to determine which of the competing plan can save them money.

AT&T Unlimited Wireless Data

AT&T was the first telecom company to once again offer the unlimited data plan since early this year. The offer, however, is extended to DirecTV and U-Verse TV subscribers only. Paid TV subscribers and whose monthly data usage ranges from 10 to 15 GB can benefit from this scheme, according to CNET.

The unlimited data plan will cost subscribers $60 per line. Two additional lines will cost the customer $40 each while a fourth line will be given free of charge. The paid TV subscription basic service will cost an additional $20. Customers get a $10 discount if he or she opts for the TV/wireless data package.

T-Mobile One

On the surface, the T-Mobile One package share similarities with Sprint's offer. However, single and two line subscribers will tend to pay more. But four line subscribers will basically pay the same price on either T-Mobile or Sprint.

T-Mobile's unlimited data plan starts at $70 for the first line, the second line costs $50 and the next six lines will cost $20 each. Subscribers who will use their device as a mobile hotspot will have to pay extra. However, the tethering speed is limited to 128 kilobits per second. Subscribers who want to data share at 4G speed will have to cough up an additional 15$ for every monthly usage of 5 GB.

Sprint Unlimited Freedom

The Sprint Unlimited Freedom offer seems a better deal than T-Mobile. The first line will cost subscribers $60, the second line costs $40 and the cost lowers than $30 for the next three additional lines.

Unlike the T-Mobile unlimited data plan, Sprint won't charge its customers for tethering their devices at 4G speed. The free mobile hotspot feature however is limited to 5 GB monthly usage only.
