Nintendo NX Aims To Expand Gaming Population

IN a new interview on Friday, August 19, Shinya Takahashi, General Manager of Nintendo Entertainment Planning & Development, has explained that the gaming console company plans to extend the gaming audiences of the upcoming Nintendo NX console to casual and hardcore players alike.

Nintendo NX's Gaming Audience

The interview has been published by Nikkei Trendy. According to Nintendo Everything, at one point of the interview, Takahashi explained that with Nintendo NX the company aims to create a gaming console that neither moms nor people who like games would dislike. The gaming device will come with features enjoyable by both customers who have not played much and customers who have lots of gaming experience.

According to the specialized online publication Nintendo Insider, by aiming to expand the gaming population by targeting casual and hardcore gamers alike, Nintendo NX will be a continuation of the company's blue ocean strategy.

The Nintendo NX console is expected to be released next March in order to gather enough software by the biggest earnings period of the year, during the Christmas season. Nintendo will also gather development teams into one place, in order to avoid software shortages.

Nintendo aims to build a stronger cooperative relationship between teams in its efforts to ensure a smooth software development. According to Takahashi, the company is paying attention to avoiding software shortages by having teams that create the development environment and software development teams thinking together about the NX lineup.

Not many things are known about the upcoming NX and the gaming console still remains a huge mystery, despite the fact that its development is rumored since last March. Nintendo did not confirm the launch date yet.

According to rumors, with Tokyo Game Show 2016 fast approaching, an unveiling of the new Nintendo gaming platform is expected sometime next month. Tokyo Game Show 2016 is scheduled to take place at Japan's Makuhari Messe in September, between Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18.
