Prepaid iPhone Comes to Sprint's Virgin Mobile for $30 Per Month

Sprint's Virgin Mobile is all set to offer contract-less iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S from June 29. Its plan starts at $30 per month.

Virgin Mobile is all set to become the second pre-paid carrier in the U.S. to offer contract-less Apple iPhone. The announcement came from the company on Thursday. People familiar with the company's plan revealed that the Overland Park, Kan., carrier is ready to offer plans on its subsidiary part, Virgin Mobile.

Leap Wireless International Inc. is the first company that offered iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S prepaid service. Now Sprint is following the company in selling Apple's iPhone.

Users can purchase iPhone 4's 8GB version for $549 and 16GB iPhone 4S for $649. These are the unsubsidized price offered by Virgin Mobile. There is a plan that starts at $30 per month as well. This plan includes 300 minutes of talk time, unlimited data and text messaging. But this unlimited data comes with a fair usage policy and is limited to 2.5 GB per month. Users will face a throttled speed after passing this limit. Users can get 1,200 minutes of talk time by paying $40 and unlimited talk time at $50.

Apple's spokeswoman denied commenting about these plans. A great part of this plan is no credit checks are required for customers for this plan. But users should think properly before taking any of these plans as the math depends on the type of users.
