'Supergirl' Season 2 Spoilers: Wonder Woman To Play As 'POTUS'; Superman To Make His Debut

Girl power at its finest! "Supergirl" meets Wonder Woman. Only this time, the iconic superhero will play as the president of the United States in the show's Season 2.

Lynda Carter has already started filming for the latest season of the hit TV series and things are looking quite exciting. Melissa Benoist a.k.a. "Supergirl" took to Instagram on Thursday and posted a sneak peak of Carter's first day on set.

"Met a wonderful woman today @reallyndacarter," Benoist captioned the black-and-white photo.

Carter also expressed her excitement to be working with Benoist. She took to Twitter on Friday and tweeted, "Having so much fun filming "Supergirl" on The CW with Melissa Benoist! I'm excited!"

Lynda Carter is not the only new addition to the series. Also expected to join the cast in Season 2 is "Teen Wolf's" Tyler Hoechlin to guest-star as Superman, spoilers revealed. In an interview last June, the 28-year-old actor told ET that seeing him play the role of an iconic icon is "kind of surreal."

Also on the list of new cast members are Katie McGrath (Lena Luthor), Ian Gomez (Snapper Carr), Floriana Lima (Maggie Sawyer) and Chris Wood (Mon-El). These new characters play a significant role in transitioning of "Supergirl" from CBS to The CW.

Another spoiler to watch out for is the "biggest ever" four-way crossover announced by network's entertainment chief Mark Pedowitz. He added that a crossover is only fitting because they are all in the same place now.

The biggest crossover will be between "Supergirl", "The Flash", "Legends of Tomorrow" and "Arrow" next season. Since "they are all in the same place now", does it mean that Carter is going to be the president in all of them? No word on that yet. However, Carter's POTUS role will first appear on "Supergirl" Season 2, Episode 3.

"Supergirl" returns on October 10 on The CW.
