Samsung had struck a sweet deal with Dropbox and the popular cloud storage provider promised to provide 50GB free storage for the Galaxy S3 users. But, as per the latest news, two major US carriers, AT&T and Verizon have declined the storage offer for the upcoming Galaxy phone. Other major carriers like T-mobile, Sprint and U.S. Cellular have not said anything about chopping off Dropbox as of now.
"Select carriers have opted-out of the promotion on phones otherwise eligible. Unfortunately, AT&T and Verizon are among these carriers not currently participating," the company says on its Dropbox.
Galaxy S3, however, packs in a reasonable internal memory space, ranging from 16GB to 32GB and 64GB. Additionally, users can also extend the phone memory up to 64GB by via microSD memory cards.
The latest decision of declining Dropbox will affect the Samsung lovers for sure. But if the decision is exclusively taken only by AT&T and Verizon, other carriers will definitely get an edge over them.
Meanwhile, AT&T has confirmed to start shipping the new smartphone on June 18, Sprint has announced June 21 as its possible date for starting off shipment and Verizon is expected to start shipping only by July 9.
