Nintendo NX vs PS Neo: Battle Of The Next-Gen Consoles

2016 has been a relatively notable one for the gaming industry. Players were able to experience new innovations and platforms, as well as relive old games and gaming consoles.

Yet, despite it all, the biggest things to come to gaming this year are still under wraps. Gamers are still eagerly awaiting the release of the Nintendo NX and the PlayStation Neo and how exactly these two will stack up against the other.

The Innovation Of The Nintendo NX

There has been plenty of speculation surrounding the two upcoming consoles, despite no real confirmation from either Nintendo or Sony. According to Express UK, the Nintendo NX will hit the market by March 2017, despite it first being mentioned back in 2015.

The nex-gen console is expected to have a handheld design with detachable controls, thereby acting as a portable gaming device. However, it will also reportedly have the ability to get hooked up to a home television for home play.

Other rumors surrounding the Nintendo NX is that it will further innovate gaming by including an Augmented Reality feature into the game. Of course, as is with all Nintendo consoles, the device will also have a wide variety of game titles available.

The Nintendo NX is expected to be officially announced by September.

The Power Of The PlayStation Neo

Meanwhile, the next console from Sony is shaping up to be one of the most powerful consoles the gaming industry has seen yet. According to Pocket-Lint, the PS Neo will feature an Ultra High Definition Blu-ray player, along with updates on improvements on the already-dominant PS4.

The good news is that the PS players do not need to worry about game compatibility, should the make the upgrade. The PS Neo is meant to compliment the PS4, not overpower it. As such, games will have an enhanced mode to optimize the specs and features of the PS Neo, but these games will still play on the standard PS4.

Sony is also expected to make the official reveal for the PS Neo this September, during an event that the company calls a "PlayStation Meeting."
