However, her return is allegedly causing a rift between her ex-boyfriend, Ian Somerhalder and his wife, Nikki Reed. According to Hall of Fame Magazine, the rift started when Julie Plec assured that Dobrev is keeping her promise to return to the show.
Dobrev will only be returning for one episode, doing a cameo role only to conclude the storyline of her character. However, her fans are sincerely hoping for a reunion between her character and Damon Salvatore, portrayed by Ian Somerhalder. These hopes and speculations are making rounds the internet already; leading to the rumors that Somerhalder is getting divorced with his wife.
Ian Somerhalder Insists A Delena Reunion Is Not Necessary To The Storyline
Movie News Guide reported that the rumors all began when Somerhalder insisted during an interview that he is no longer interested in being reunited with his ex-girlfriend. He said that a reunion between Damon and Elena is no longer necessary to the storyline, insisting that the story be focused on the relationship between the two brothers, Damon and Stefan Salvatore.
