After a three-year break in the music scene, Kings of Leon has finally announced their latest album called "WALLS" (We Are Like Love Songs). This is the band's seventh studio album following their 2013's "Mechanical Bull."
The band behind the hit song "Use Somebody" also revealed that they will be working with producer Markus Dravs, the same guy who worked with the Arcade Fire, Coldplay, Florence and the Machine.
In an interview with Billboard, bassist Jared Followill shared how Dravs was able to move them out of their comfort zones and try out new things.
"He just said things that nobody had ever said to us," Followill told Billboard. "Like, 'I don't like that song, that's not good, we can move on from that. He'd be like, 'OK, now play it like The Sex Pistols, and then you've turned a slow song into a fast one.'"
According to NME, the first single is most likely to be "Waste A Moment." The band also shared their personal connection with "Walls". Followill revealed that his wife was the inspiration behind the song "Find Me".
"She stayed in this hotel in Los Angeles," Followill stated in an interview with Q." This is going to sound weird and a lot of people will roll their eyes, but she felt like it was haunted. When she tells the story, it's the scariest thing. So I took that and turned it into a love story."
On the other hand, the song "Over" was inspired by Followill's treatment for alcohol addiction.
"That song is very personal, and to the people involved who know what that song's about, it's like 'Holy shit'." Followill added. "But if you look back on stuff that's happened years ago, if it still means something you should write about it."
Kings of Leon's latest album will include 10 tracks which includes the following:
WALLS Tracklist:
1. Waste A Moment
2. Reverend
3. Around The World
4. Find Me
5. Over
6. Muchacho
