After the several hints from Mortal Kombat X game's director, it has been finally confirmed that the Mortal Kombat XL will have its own PC version. In addition, NeatherRealm has been working on an online experience through beta testing for the PC players.
According to IGN, Mortal Kombat XL was previously released for both major console platforms in March. This time, it has been reported that the upcoming PC version will also include the latest game's DLC aside from the base game. However, some reports say that a spokesperson from NeatherRealm says that both Mortal Kombat XL and Kombat Pack 2 would not come to the PC. This left PC gamers out in the cold.
According to reports, there is no exact reason behind this cancellation, which causes gamers to guess as to why the publisher and developer are changing their minds. Unfortunately, no further information about the release date of the PC version of Mortal Kombat XL yet. However, sources said that it might perhaps be for the best.
On the other hand, Mortal Kombat X performance on consoles is an ultimate hit while the PC version is a different story. Some are reporting that they are unable to play due to a streaming install error. Far more than worse is that the update that is supposed to fix the players' problems ending to a loss of a player's save files. The PC version of the game us receiving various reactions, which are mostly negative.
Reports said that these type of problems are the reason behind the cancellation statement. Luckily though, latest news revealed that NeatherRealm is working to prevent this kind of problem for the upcoming PC version of the Mortal Kombat XL. According to Game Rant, the studio is looking into GGPO netcode for the online matchmaking. This is supposed to help in creating a lag-free experience for the players.
