Season 23 of 'Dancing with the Stars' looks like it will have a pretty interesting year if we base it on the cast which was recently revealed.
What seems like a setup for good bar joke is actually the latest cast of celebrities confirmed to be on the latest season of Dancing with the stars. According to Oregon Live, rapper Vanilla Ice, Olympic gold medalists Ryan Lochte and Laurie Hernandez, and former governor of Texas, Rick Perry will be lacing up their dancing shoes for a shot at that Mirror Ball trophy.

Vanilla Ice who was quite popular in the 90's with his smash hit 'Ice, Ice Baby' has already gained some reality TV experience points in his hat when he joined UK's 'Dancing on Ice' in its sixth season. According to Bustle, He has been seen in a couple of cameos in some comedy movies and has dabbled successfully in some home renovation projects. He will be partnered with Witney Carson on the show.
Laurie Hernandez is excited to join the season 23 cast and was quoted saying to People, "I'm so excited! I can't wait to do the jive." the award winning gymnast quipped. "My dad and I love to watch the show together. He used to tap me on the shoulder and say, 'You're gonna be on there one day I would just tell him, 'Oh, stop. You're being silly.' Now he's like, 'I told you!' He's so excited."
Ryan Lochte, on the other hand, is just fresh off making negative headlines from his recent foray in the Rio Olympics. His addition to season 23 of 'Dancing with the Stars' seems to be a very good public relations move to cool off his poor public image. In a statement to E News, Lochte said, "The past two weeks have been the lowest point of my life. It's been really hard. But the fans, my family, my friends, they've all been really positive, keeping me going. And that's what I wanna do. And this is perfect for the show because I want to put that behind me."
And what about Rick Perry? Well according to E News, he is going to use the show to raise awareness of veterans or the former Republican party nominee could be using reality TV as a way to promote himself. Hey, it worked for Donald Trump right?
