Sony has launched its latest mid-range Android smartphone Xperia Miro ahead of its due date. The smartphone was launched on Sony's Facebook page as a part of the company's innovative Fast Forward Marketing campaign.
The latest Sony smartphone, which comes in four different colors including black, black/pink, white and white/gold and tagline of "fun, social and colorful", features a 3.5 inch display and preloaded Android ICS operating system.
The 5 megapixel primary snapper of the phone will record videos at 30 frames per second, reports Sony. While Miro's deeper integration of Facebook is known, as of now, no certain news about the processor and other specification are out yet. The price of the phone is still unknown. But more details including a detailed spec list will start pouring in next week.
According to our last obtained update from The Unwired, Xperia Miro is a low-end phone coming with a Qualcomm MSM7225A CPU at 800 MHz, display featuring 320 x 480 pixel, 512 MB RAM that can be expanded up to 4 GB with microSD memory cards and 1500 mAh battery. With a dimension of 113 x 59.4 x 9.9 mm, the Miro is expected to weigh about 110 grams.
Rejecting the earlier report which stated that the Sony phone will be launched only in Europe, the latest updtae confirms that Miro will have a worldwide release and will have two versions. While the global model, called ST23i, will support quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE and dualband UMTS/HSPA at 900/2100 Mhz, the American, called ST23a, will support triband UMTS/HSPA at 850/1900/2100 MHz. The latest Sony phone will also have WiFi b/g/n at 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR.
