'Jumanji' Cast Revealed, Dwayne Johnson Claims Movie Is Not A Remake

Sony’s “Jumanji’s” final piece in the characters’ puzzle has been revealed as Karen Gillan fills the remaining block of stars along Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Nick Jonas. “Jumanji’s” producer and main star Dwayne Johnson validated that the movie is not a remake, rather an extension of the original film.

Karen Gillan Accepts The “Jumanji” Challenge

Dwayne Johnson took to his Instagram in welcoming Scottish actress Karen Gillan who will play the role of Martha.

The lengthy post of Johnson beams with pride and excitement, paying compliment to the former “Doctor Who” actress.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I'm proud to announce a girl who's playing the most important role in our movie - the talented, beautiful and down for a Scottish fight at any time, Ms @KarenGillanOfficial. And yes, this is the girl who is so bad ass she shaved her freaking head for Guardians of the Galaxy,” wrote Johnson.

The Jumanji family is promising with A-list actors in set. BBC News mentioned that Gillan took a drama course at Eden Court in Inverness. How impressive is that.

“The Rock” Claims Movie Is Not A Reboot
Dwayne Johnson slams the speculations about the remake of the movie. He mentioned in his social media account that the new Jumanji would actually be a continuation of the 1995 film, in honor of the late Robin Williams who played a highly significant role in the previous movie.

“We start production next month in Hawaii and as many of you already know, this isn't a remake or reboot, but a continuation of the awesome JUMANJI story we love,” Johnson clarified.

Jake Kasdan takes the director’s job while the storyline is penned by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner.

This is an adventurous movie that we cannot miss. “Jumanji” premieres in theaters on July 28, 2017.
