Samsung Gear S3 & Asus Zenwatch 3 Better Than The Mighty Apple Watch?

Two new smartwatches were announced before August ended, namely the Samsung Gear S3 and the Asus Zenwatch 3. These two wearables are expected to be up for sale before the year ends.

With one year in between the Apple Watch and these new smartwatches, fans can only wonder whether the new ones can compete with the popular smartwatch brand, according to GSM Arena.

Samsung Gear S3 Smartwatch Specifications

If there is one big edge that the Samsung Gear S3 has over the others, it would be its LTE connectivity. If you're looking to buy a data enabled smartwatch, the Samsung Gear S3 has an LTE enabled variant.

Additional detail about the Gear S3 is that it is IP68 certified to be dust and water proof. It also sports a 1.3 inch Super AMOLED screen with 278 PPI density and it runs the latest Tizen OS. Its RAM is 768 MB and its storage is 4 MB.

It has the typical smartwatch necessities like accelerometer, gyro, barometer, and hear rate sensors. It is SMS, MMS, Email and IM capable as well. For its charging technique, the Samsung Gear S3 is wireless charging enabled.

It does come with a good 380 mAh battery.

Asus Zenwatch 3 Specifications

One of the things that the Asus Zenwatch 3 has that its competition doesn't is its fast battery charging capability. According to the device's specs, it can charge as much as 60 percent in just about 15 minutes.

Just like the Gear S3, the Asus Zenwatch 3 also comes with 4 GB storage. However, the Zenwatch only has 512 MB RAM. Additionally, the Asus smartwatch has 287 pixels per inch density on its 1.39 inch display. It is IP67 certified to be dust and water resistant as well.

The device runs Android Wear 2 and has a 341 mAh battery. Furthermore, recent reports say that the $255 priced Android Wear smartwatch looks way better than its predecessors.

Apple Watch Specifications

Apple Watch is relatively more expensive than most brands, but it does have some things that the others don't. Three examples are its 3D touch display. 303 PPI density and 8 GB RAM.

Apart from that, the Apple Watch is almost the same as the others. It has a 1.65-inch AMOLED display, an IPX7 certified water resistant body, and the typical sensors most smartwatches have (gyro, heart rate, accelerometer).

What might be disappointing for fans is that the Apple Watch only has a 250 mAh battery. This means that users are at risk of losing battery life faster than the other wearables.

Conclusions

Each of the said smartwatches have their own edges over the others. In the end, it still depends on the user's preference and style.
