UK-based Big Data Partnership, a leading data specialist solution provider, announced on Wednesday, June 13, a strategic partnership with Hortonworks. Under the terms of the deal, the two companies will join their System Integrator (SI) and Certified Training Delivery Partner programs.
Sunnyvale, California-based Hortonworks is a leading commercial vendor dealing with the innovation, development and support of Apache Hadoop. Big Data Partnership will be the first Hortonworks certified training partner in the United Kingdom and Europe, meaning it has a unique status to deliver the Hortonworks Certified Apache Hadoop Developer and Administrator courses via private on-site training for enterprise customers.
Strategic Partnership
"We are extremely excited to add Hortonworks to our partnership ecosystem and, in doing so, become their first authorised Training and SI partner in Europe," said Big Data Partnership CEO and co-founder Mike Merritt-Holmes. "We have seen an upsurge in awareness and interest in Big Data leading to a rapid increase in the adoption of Hadoop platforms in the UK and Europe," added the CEO. "The Hortonworks Certified Apache Hadoop Developer and Administrator courses stand out as unique through their development by the industry's foremost Hadoop experts including the original creators of Hadoop at Yahoo! and committee members. Big Data Partnership is delighted to be the first company to bring these outstanding courses to the European market, empowering customers with real-life actionable skills to develop, implement and administer cutting-edge Hadoop solutions."
How Customers Will Benefit
Due to this partnership, customers will be able to build and implement complex enterprise-class "Big Data" applications, while benefitting from the support of some of the industry's top minds. Hortonworks is renowned for its experience in deploying and supporting Hadoop solutions in large-scale production environments. Meanwhile, Big Data Partnership brings its extensive industry and local market expertise, supported by the core team of creators and committee members of Apache Hadoop. This new partnership aims to deliver a new standard of training, certification, as well as SI expertise to the European market.
"We are very pleased to add Big Data Partnership, who are committed to open source and Apache Hadoop, to our partner programme. With a vital perspective on the challenges and opportunities in Europe, we believe this strategic relationship will enable both companies to more effectively serve our enterprise customers in meeting their Big Data needs," said Hortonworks' Senior Director of Global Delivery Services Renee Beckloff. "By partnering with Big Data Partnership we are also able to take the first step in globalising our training offering."
