Apple neglected to mention its Mac Pro line series on Monday, despite adding a "New" tag to the Mac Pro on its Web site. "We're working on something really great for later next year," is what Apple's CEO Tim Cook said to satisfy concerned Mac Pro users for now.
According to MacRumors, Apple added a "new" tag to the Mac Pro series that was later removed when some people complained about the update. The product wasn't even mentioned at Apple's WWDC keynote presentation on Monday. The updated version still does not have Thunderbolt ports, USB 3.0 ports and SATA III. There is no improvement of RAM either. The concerned Mac Pro fans believe it still looks like an update from 2010 and the only high-end thing about this update is its price.
Some Mac Pro owners opened a Facebook page last month titled as "We Want a New Mac Pro" with a plea for updating their machines. The page received 18,149 likes. To satisfy these concerned fans, Tim Cook sent a response to an e-mail of a MacBook Pro fan named Franz. "Although we didn't have a chance to talk about a new Mac Pro at today's event, don't worry as we're working on something really great for later next year," he said to the fans.
The new MacBooks announced in the conference are packed with USB 3.0 ports and Thunderbolt ports but the existing Mac Pro line users are disappointed. Cook did mention a minor update in his mail but Apple still removed the "New" tag from their Web site above the Mac Pro.
