Instagram users, rejoice! A recent update has made it possible to zoom in on photos and videos, a feature that has been long overdue.
The new feature called Zoom will let users have a closer view of photos and videos in their feeds. Instagram users positively welcomed this move as majority of them has been demanding it for a while now. Photos on Instagram are known for its static squares and the only way to take an up-close look is by taking a screenshot and zooms in using other photo platform. Users seem to be optimistic with Zoom, expressing their approval of the newest update.

Zoom was released on Wednesday to iOS users first and will eventually become available for Android users in the coming weeks. The update comes in line with a series of other improvement including Instagram Stories which was released earlier this month. It also made some drastic changes on its logo and introduces Boomerang, a short video feature that lets users loop videos forwards then backwards.
Starting today, you can pinch to zoom on photos and videos in feed, on profiles and on Explore. Dive into an adorable puppy’s smile or into every detail of your friend’s new shirt. Over the past six months, you’ve seen many exciting changes come to Instagram, from a new icon to longer videos and even a new way to share everyday moments with Instagram Stories.
