Apple may not be willing to release the 3D mapping feature in iOS 6 for iPhone 4 users, but that hasn’t stopped hackers from finding a way to provide the functionality on the older Apple smartphones.
Russian site iGuides’ Anton Titkov (iTony) decided to explore the new firmware a bit deeply and, apparently, became the first man on the planet to manage a working 3D card on the iPhone 4.
A new tweak from Anton Titkova called 3DEnabler provides support for 3D cards on the "old" devices. It is also believed that the currently unavailable Turn-by-turn navigation will also be hacked by Titkova for older devices.
Note that the hacking requires a third-party file installation and iOS 6, although after being successfully jailbroken, according to a Slashgear report, still can’t access the Cydia unofficial download store.
You can try and hack into you own iPhone by following the steps here, but remember that you will be attempting to do it at your own risk!
