Apple's annual September event is scheduled to take place in just a couple of days, on Wednesday, Sept. 7, and it is expected to unveil its new iOS 10 Golden Master build, Apple Watch with GPS, Beats, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, as well as other new products.
iPhone 7's Launch
Apple's keynote event will take place at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, California, on Wednesday, Sep 7, at at 10 a.m. Pacific Time. The event will also be streamed live on Apple's website.
One of the main attractions of the event will be the launch of the flagship iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Apple has already used its customers with its annual iPhone upgrade cycle. This is the tenth year for Apple's yearly updates of its flagship product.
The iPhone 7 will come with new cameras but without the headphone jack, as reported by Forbes. Multiple reports highlighted the fact that Apple will discontinue the legacy 3.5-millimeter headphone jack in the upcoming iPhone 7.
By eliminating the headphone jack, Apple engineers could design thinner form factors as well as a waterproof design. Most of the tech analysts expect that Apple will offer an adapted for traditional headphones, but ship the iPhone 7" with a pair of Lightning-connected headphones in the box.
According to Apple Insider, other expected improvements to the iPhone are the new feedback home button, wireless earbuds, dual-lens camera with optical zoom in the larger 5.5-inch model and an improved 12-megapixels camera in the smaller 4.7-inch version, better performance in low light conditions and improved camera flash in both cameras, 3 gigabytes of RAM in the iPhone 7 Plus and a newly improved 3D Touch sensor.
Other Apple Products Also Expected
Apple is also expected to unveil a new Apple Watch with better waterproofing, a barometer and GPS radio at its Sept. 7 event. Some new headphones and speakers models of the Beats series are also expected to be announced at the event. In terms of software, Apple might issue on Wednesday a golden master build of iOS 10 for developers, as well as watchOS 3 and tvOS 10.
