Jess and the crew are finally coming back to their apartment in two weeks in "New Girl" Season 6. Zooey Deschannel (plays the role of Jess), also revealed some updates on the popular sit-com's next season including a crossover with "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and Reagan returning for the eight-episode arc.
The show will pick up three months after the last episode in the Season 5, Movie News Guide cited, with Jess trying to forget Nick (Jake Johnson) and Nick returning from New Orleans sooner than expected. The official synopsis further explained that Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Cece (Hannah Simone), are finding it difficult to hunt for their first home.
Nasim Pedrad from "Scream Queens" will guest in the series as who is struggling with a long distance relationship with Winston (Lamorne Morris).
Deschanel's filmmaking debut
The season will also mark star Deschannel's debut as television film director.
In an interview on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," Deschannel, who plays the lead role and now also the director of the show disclosed "New Girl" Season 6 premiere episode's title which is "House Hunt," Ecumenical News reported.
She also said that everything went smoothly except that they had to adjust the filming with Johnson's schedule, who is currently shooting a movie with Tom Cruise.
'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' crossover and Reagan
On the same interview Deschannel also teased about a crossover with police comedy sitcom "Brooklyn Nine-Nine." "It's a double crossover! Basically the cast of 'New Girl' goes to New York because Schmidt is getting an award from his High School and that's how we end up in the midst of the 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' world," she said.
Reagan (Megan Fox) is also expected to return in the middle of the season. In Season 5 Nick revealed he developed feelings for Reagan while Jess was away and now that Jess is doing her best to forget Nick, what would be the future of their love story?
"New Girl" Season 6 will be returning to our TV screens on September 20, Tuesday, at 8:30 p.m. on ABC.
