Razer has made a name for itself by accommodating gamers' every need. Most notable have been its Blade and Blade Stealth notebooks, which have ironically been dubbed as great gaming consoles. Even more so now, as both units just got major upgrades.
How Is It Better?
According to Tweak Town, Razer is fitting the units with Intel's next-generation Kaby Lake CPU, as well as NVIDIA's new Pascal-based GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card. The new addition from NVIDIA makes the entire unit ready for virtual reality.
The Blade
Aesthetically, there are not many changes to Razer's Blade offering. The Blade notebook is still 14 inches. There are also two display options - the original IGZO-based 3200 x 1800, as well as an IPS-based 1920 x 1080 option.
The Blade, however, received the all-important graphics update with its new GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card.
The Blade Stealth
Meanwhile, the other Razer unit received the processor update. The more high-end Blade Stealth has replaced the Core i7-6500 for the Kaby Lake-based Core i7-7500U. The newer installation is a dual-core CPU with hyperthreading, which means four threads, at a 2.7GHz base.
Meanwhile, it also has two display options for the 12.5 inch panel, which has an IGZO Touch display. The options are either a 3840 x 2160 (4K) with 100 percent Adobe RGB color space or a 2560 x 1440 option with 70 percent Adobe RGB color space. The 4K model has up to 1TB of internal storage, while the 1440p variant comes in a variety of 128GB, 257GB and 512GB options.
Furthermore, the Blade Stealth has a larger battery at 53.6kWh, as opposed to the original 45kWh.
The Blade And Blade Stealth
As ZDNet notes, the whole intention for the Blade Stealth was portability, so there are more priorities other than gaming, which is why it got such a performance upgrade. Meanwhile, the Blade has improved on one very important factor for gaming - the graphics.
