Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 vs Samsung Note 7 Specs And Features Comparison

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and Samsung Galaxy Note 7 have been getting a lot of comparison for its features. Many speculate that the two might go head to head when it comes to which phone is better.

Here's a comparison between the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and Samsung Galaxy Note 7.

Design And Display

When it comes to aesthetics, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 which measures 151mm in height, is slightly shorter than the Galaxy Note 7 measuring at 153.3 mm. Xiaomi's flagship is also considerably heavier as it weighs 175g as opposed to Samsung's flagship which weighs around 169g. The former is also slightly thicker with its 8.4mm body compared to the latter's 7.9mm.

Physically speaking, the two flagships may have a few differences. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has a glass and metal design with a curved dual-edge display screen which basically gets rid of the bezels on the longer sides. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 has a full-metal unibody with dual lines on the rear.

Up front, the Redmi Note 4 has no physical home button as compared to Galaxy Note 7. The latter also has a finger print scanner, iris scanner and an S-Pen feature while the Redmi Note 4 houses just a fingerprint sensor. Considering these, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 tops the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.

Display wise, the Redmi Note 4 has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD panel which supports Full HD Resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (401ppi). Meanwhile, the Galaxy Note 7 has a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display which supports QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels (518ppi). With this, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has a slight advantage.

Performance And Storage

When it comes to performance, many believed that Samsung's flagship outdo Xiaomi's. The Galaxy Note 7 is packed with a Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890 SoC (depending on the region). It is also equipped with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of storage which is expandable via microSD card up to 256 GB.

Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 4 has a MediaTek Helio X20 SoC that features 10 cores with a speed of 2.1GHZ. It is also equipped with 2 GB or 3 GB of RAM depending on variant. The 2 GB variant comes with a 16 GB storage while the 3 GB variant with 64 GB storage, both expandable via microSD card.

Meanwhile in terms of battery, the battery of Redmi Note 4 is significantly more powerful at 4100 mAh than the Galaxy Note 7's 3500 mAh. Looking at the specs, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has a more "premium" offering than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.

Pricing for the Galaxy Note 7 starts at $850 while the Redmi Note 4 costs $135 for the base model and $180 for the high end model.
