Being on level 20, I suddenly felt that it is very difficult to level up, I checked my avatar and to my surprise, it takes a long time to proceed to level 21. Fortunately, the guys at GamePur published something so you can hold on to the game and grind up that level of yours.
Pidgey Farming
Even at this level, do not ignore the little Pokemon. Pidgey and Weedle are still your best friends. Read here to find out more.
Spender, ey?
The best way to spend your money, real world money, in Pokemon Go is to buy Lucky Eggs, lots of them. That's if you want to level up faster, why not double your XP all the time right? Combined with Pidgey farming above, you'll never go wrong. Also works best when battling.
Kakuna matatah, I mean Metapod
If you are not fond of these Pokemon, better just replace them with candy. When evolving to Kakuna and Metapod, there's a huge chance you'll just get frustrated as CP increase is very minimal.
Wait 'til 20
If you are not on level 20 yet, then good for you because I am here to warn you not to use those candies to evolve or power up at lower levels. Starting at level 20, you get better perks after evolving or powering up compared as to you were on level 5. Try it yourself to confirm.
There's a ball for every Pokemon
Do not waste your higher level balls on low level Pokemon, at level 20, it is still important to keep your basic balls as opposed to being at level 30 where it is more important to carry higher level balls. At 20, you should balance your high level and low level balls - no pun intended.
Inventory
You should start clearing up your bag at level 20 in Pokemon Go, even before level 20 so to speak. Only keep the essentials, dispose of Revives - just keep a quarter of them, same thing goes to basic potions as there are better time-saving potions available at this level. Talking about inventory, there is an X button after spinning at Pokestops, so instead of tapping at those items coming out, you can just exit and the items will still be in your inventory.
Gym
The gym provides you with much XP. As you battle to conquer gyms, so does your XP conquering that XP bar, just make sure you will win. So, everytime you decide to conquer a gym, always be prepared. If the gym is too strong for you then, just keep on grinding until you can match that Pokemon guarding the gym. Also, it is better to conquer a gym that is being occupied by rival teams. Aside from it being ethical, you can deploy up to 6 Pokemon when attacking a rival gym. If you try to fight a team mate, you can only pick one Pokemon.
Commuting
When you are a passenger, make sure you incubate your eggs. It may or may not work but at least you got some travel time registered anyhow. It works best during rush hour when the car you are riding travels at walking or jogging pace.
Most important tip
The most important tip in playing Pokemon Go, no matter what level, is always BE SAFE. Do not play the game if the circumstances would endanger you. The next important one is of course, HAVE FUN. This is a game so no conflicts, please.
