Among all those characters introduced during season one, the four of them are the only ones remaining up to now.

Even though no one from the production or creative team has ever confirmed it, Meredith will allegedly again come face-to-face with death in the upcoming season and this time she will actually go through it already.
Christina Yang Allegedly To Return On Season 13 Of "Grey's Anatomy"
There have also been never ending speculations about the return of one of the original characters of the show, Christina Yang (Sandra Oh). The actress has always been vocal about her sadness in leaving the show a few seasons back, but given that her character was not killed off, it makes room for her to come back soon. People have already assumed that the big return will already be in the upcoming season, to premiere on September 22.
