Pokemon Go players can use PokeLock to lock their mobile device's screen. This will enable players to continuously run the game.
What is PokeLock?
PokeLock is an Android app that locks the mobile screen but does not turn off or suspend the Pokemon Go game. The app only blocks the touch and soft buttons but leaves the game intact. Unfortunately, this handy app is only available for Android users at the Google PlayStore.
PokeLock Lets Pokemon Go Players Do Other Stuff
Many Pokemon Go players would want to play the game as often as they can. But there are parts in the game that does not require much attention from the player such as hatching an Egg. Players could simply lock the screen using PokeLock and run some other important errands like going to work or studying.
PokeLock: How does it Work?
PokeLock does not implement system lock on the mobile phone but simply rolls out an overlay that will prevent player from accidentally pressing or tapping a button while in lock screen mode. Poke Lock can be deactivated by a double or triple tap on the screen. Those who selected a Lock Pattern can unlock the screen by the using the same pattern.
PokeLock As Battery Saver
The PokeLock is primarily touted as battery saver. Pokemon Go will continue to run despite the block screen appearance. The default Android screen timeout is prevented by PokeLock from disrupting the screen lock. Running Pokemon Go in the background can prolong the battery life of the Android mobile device. This means longer Pokemon Go playing hours.
PokeLock Assessment
It's free although it has some ads included. Its handy tool and the developer are quick to fix the bugs whenever they are pointed out based on the users' comments. This is a third party app but it is doubtful players could get a reprimand from Niantic for using it.
