6 Reasons Why Buying An iPhone 7 Might Not Be A Good Idea

Apple's new flagship iPhone 7 might be exciting and great, but you may want to skip this upgrade. Here are some six reasons to consider:

1. The double-camera is available only on iPhone 7 Plus.

The new double-camera feature is exciting but it is available only in the iPhone 7 Plus. Between the two iPhone 7 models there's a $100 difference in price.

2. Water-resistance is not hype anymore.

According to the website goodhousekeeping.com, it's a good thing that the iPhone 7 is finally dust-proof and water-resistant, but other smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S7 have already been water-resistant for the past few models.

3. The iPhone 7 could still easily shatter.

Apple didn't introduce any advancements in screen protection, so the glass screen on the iPhone 7 is still too fragile.

4. Battery life could be better.

Apple does not provide best battery life yet. While Apple's new iPhone 7 model boasts two more hours of battery life than the iPhone 6, smartphone test show that the iPhone 6 only last 7.2 hours playing videos, while Samsung Galaxy S7 last11 hours.

5. You still need wireless headphones on other devices.

Apple indeed got rid of the headphone jack on the new iPhone 7, as predicted. But because the newly introduced Apple AirPods use a different wireless technology from Bluetooth, it is likely they won't work with non-Apple products.

6. The new features aren't exclusive to iPhone 7.

According to CNET, maybe some really old iPhones could encounter problems if you try to run iOS 10, Apple's latest operating system. However, according to Apple, the new iOS 10 is compatible with the iPhone 5 and later. That means the vast majority of the newly introduced features are not exclusive to iPhone 7.

The bottom line:

In you do not really need these new features and unless you would love to brag about having the latest iPhone, you can use this opportunity to get an older Apple phone such as an iPhone 6s at a reduced price.
