The need to be heard and spoken is getting louder by the day. With Siri, the Apple Inc. set a benchmark for the app and others have joined the bandwagon.
This year, Samsung also launched its personal voice assistant S voice, in its new flagship model Galaxy S3.
The recent entrant to this 'me too' market is Korean giant LG. It has just announced its very own 'intelligent voice recognition' app for Android smart phones line.
The in-house app from the Korean smart phone maker is called 'Quick Voice.' And analysts feel that it will directly challenge Apple's Siri and Samsung's S Voice by implementing voice activated features on select Optimus line of smart phones.
According to the company's press release, Quick Voice will be available with the LG Optimus Vu in later this month and on LG Optimus LTE 2 in July via software upgrade. Right now, LG will introduce this service only for its Korean customers.
It is still unclear whether LG products in other countries will get the app in the near future.
What does LG Quick Voice Has
The Quick Voice is capable of handling commands linked to 11 applications, like making voice calls, texts, contacts, alarms, maps, weather, stocks, web search, YouTube, and the calendar.
The company has added few innovative features like, capabilities to check lunar calendar dates, at least for the Korea users.
Also, like its competitors, Quick Voice will further offer search functionality for maps, weather, stocks, and web search. However, it is not clear whether the service will enable local search for things like restaurants, a Siri feature that Apple is bringing to Korea in iOS 6.
LG has claimed that the new Quick Voice would be capable of matching some of Siri's new features, including booting apps up.
Well, talking about the current market situation, Apple already has a spectacular success in making Siri's integration with the consumer. Even the S Voice has been showered with rave reviews from tech experts under independent testing. Further it has also come out with some breakthrough human interaction features which Apple's Siri lacks.
