‘Stranger Things' Season 2 Air Date, News & Update: Will 'Eleven' Return for Season 2? Is 'Barb' Definitely Gone?

The creators of "Stranger Things" Ross and Matt Duffer has confirmed that Barb from season 1 is gone and definitely not coming back in season 2. As for Eleven, the creators want to leave her return as a surprise.

Even actress playing Eleven, Millie Bobby Brown, herself do not know if they are bringing her back in the next season. However, Brown assures their avid fans that the new season would be an amazing series even with no Eleven.

Some of the characters that will definitely return for season 2 are Winona Ryder playing Joyce Byers, Noah Schnapp playing Will Byers, Finn Wolfhard playing Mike, Gaten Matarazzo playing Dustin, and a lot more.

According to the creators, fans can look forward to a different journey and a darker new season. Initially, the Duffer brothers were considering a 10-year time jump for season 2 which means there will be a different set of cast to play most of the roles, particularly the 4 lead kid roles. Fortunately, they changed their mind and decided to continue the story which will be set in the year 1984.

The series will be outside Hawkins, Indiana but still be taken back to learn more about the portal and what it holds.

The story starts a year after Eleven rescued Will Byers. A trailer has been released for season 2 and it contains some clues on what to anticipate in the coming season. Clues include "The Lost Brothers" "The Secret Cabin", "The Boy Who Came Back to Life".

Matt Duffer says the new season will be very different from the first. Taking inspiration from the movie "Aliens" and "Terminator" where its sequels are different but still maintained the essence of the story.

Since Eleven has killed the monster in season 1, we can expect new ones to encounter in season 2 which is set to be released in 2017.
