The Popular American TV Show "Cheers" will have a stage adaptation to kick off in Boston; the same location where the show's set was.
CBS News reports that "Cheers On -Stage" will finally premiere at the Citi Performing Arts Center on Monday. The show will have 11 runs during the national tour up until September 18. Surprisingly in ratio with the television show which ran for 11 seasons between 1982 and 1993.
Scenes from the play will certainly bring nostalgia to the TV show's fans as it will depict some of the most remarkable scenes during its first few episodes. Part of the genius ensemble viewers loved are Norm Peterson (George Wendt), Sam Malone (Ted Danson) and Diane Chambers (Shelley Long), The LowellSun reports. The talented people who made the 28 Emmy and six Golden Globe Award wins possible. Former casts who brought color and fun to the television show include Rhea Perlman as Carla Tortelli, John Ratzenberger as Cliff Clavin, Woody Harrelson as Woody Boyd, Kirstie Alley as Rebecca Howe, and Kelsey Grammar as Dr. Frasier Crane who also moved on to starring into his own successful TV show in the '90s. Sadly, not everybody will appear in on-stage for the upcoming performance, but the promotions for the play is still stirring quite a lot of fans.
According to CBS Boston, The Road Company shared that production will be revolving around the scenes in the bar area. The producers have also gone as far as making the stage play interactive. Some audience members will have the time of their lives as they will also get the chance to be part of the live act to take on the role of bar customers; a great treat for all who would like to relive the good ol' "Cheers" days.
