Saving Your Face: Facebook Fixes Comments and Notification Troubles

Sometimes commenting on your friend or colleague's profile picture or status message could become a nightmare on Facebook, if one is not careful.

Previously, all you could do was delete the comment and type a new comment, or type up a subsequent comment explaining and apologizing for your mistake.

However now, the social networking website has come up with an option of 'Edit' for you.

According to the new feature, it will help the users to edit their comments so that those annoying typos can be rectified much faster. With the new edit button in the form of the pencil icon also comes an edit history feature that allows people to see exactly what it is that you have changed.

However, adding to the fact, the edit feature is only available for comments you make on posts and not the actual post itself.

But that's not all Facebook has done. According to The Next Web reports, Facebook has made changes to its notifications as well. According to the new change, if any apps, groups or other sources that send users notifications, can now be muted much quicker.

The users can get rid of unnecessary notifications by going in and adjusting the settings on their settings page.

In its blog post announcing about the move, Facebook said, "People will see more notifications from the apps, groups and features they engage with most, and none from those they choose to remove. For app developers, a less cluttered drop down menu means that notifications from high quality apps will stand out more. Early results have shown that apps that send high quality notifications have seen a lift to click-through and revenue with this update."
