As a celebration for "Digimon Adventure" 15th anniversary, they are releasing six films and since the first three have already been released in Japan, they are about to release an English-dubbed version in the United States within the month.
"Digimon Adventure" Celebrates 15th Anniversary With Six Film Installment Of "Digimon Adventure Tri"
The release of the English-dubbed version of "Digimon Adventure Tri: Reunion" is the first of the six films that the team has initially planned on releasing. The film is scheduled for a special screening in the United States this Thursday for one night only, then to be followed by its nationwide release on theatres.
To make the release of the English version of "Digimon Adventure Tri: Reunion" possible, TOEI Animation collaborated with Eleven Arts plus the special screening to be hosted by Fathom Events. This is in cooperation of the "Digimon Adventure" celebrating its 15th anniversary in the industry.
Three Films In Total Bound To Be Released By This Month, Third On September 24 Entitled "Digimon Adventure Tri: Kokuhaku"
To date, there have already been three films known to have been released and for release in Japan, out of the six that was planned. The first, "Digimon Adventure Tri: Saikai (Reunion)" was released last November 2015, followed by "Digimon Adventure Tri: Ketsui (Determination)" in March and the third, "Digimon Adventure Tri: Kokuhaku" will be released on September 24.
The upcoming third installment will be released in Japan and will only be available for paid streaming. Its Blu-ray Disc will also be on sale in theatres on the same day and its DVD release will be available on November 2.
All three films released in japan were altogether distributed by Crunchyroll, breaking down one film in four episodes that will be aired all on the same day of its release, except for the second installment in which streaming was available before its theatrical release.
