Amazon has finally released the long awaited trailer of Woody Allen's new TV series titled, "Crisis in Six Scenes." The six episode series stars Miley Cyrus, Elaine May, and Woody Allen. The comedy was written and direct by Woody Allen himself with each episode running for 30 minutes.
"Crisis in Six Scenes" follows the story of a suburban couple (Allen and May) that was interrupted by the arrival of their 20 something radical daughter Miley Cyrus. The trailer shows that the TV series, like most of Woody Allen's movies will be full quirks and will surely give the audiences some memorable laughs.
The two minute trailer shows Woody Allen's character dealing with the Black Panthers who showed up in his house, and a book club who rebels by burning bras among other things. There is also a part where Miley Cyrus told Woody Allen, "I don't dislike you... just everything that you stand for."
Another notable quip as reported by Rolling Stone is when Allen told his wife May that he thinks God will punish them for what they did in which May responds, "God's not gonna punish you, you're an atheist." And Allen wittily said, "But if I'm wrong, we're in big trouble"
When The Hollywood Reporter asked him why'd he cast Miley Cyrus for the role, "Who is that girl? She's got such a good delivery. You know, she snaps those lines off so well. The show is a silly little show, but she's very good at what she does."
Looking at the trailer, it seems like Miley Cyrus and Wood Allen has a great father-daughter chemistry on screen. With the recent critical success of his latest movie "Café Society," his new series is probably going to be fantastic.
All six episodes of the first season of "Crisis in Six Scenes" will be available in Amazon Prime by Sept. 30.
