Xbox 720 Set For The Arrival Of Kinect 2?

The rumors surrounding the arrival of Microsoft’s next-gen gaming console, Xbox 720, seem never-ending. The newest rumor involving the upcoming console has discussed about the arrival of the Kinect 2.

As per reports, Kinect 2 is set to play a huge part with the next Xbox and, although, some may see this as a bad move on the part of the company, the introduction of a new Kinect will actually compliment the way gaming is progressing. We all know that Microsoft still needs to address a number of Kinect complaints, but, it hasn’t been that bad also for the company for the first try.

According to a newly leaked 56-page document cited by The Verge, the new Xbox 720 will be available for $299 and will see the introduction of Kinect 2. Other future improvements such as SmartGlass, a Metro dashboard, and Xbox TV apps have also been hinted in the document.

Discussing about the new Kinect 2 here, according to the report, “The next iteration of Microsoft's Kinect accessory appears to be an incremental improvement over the current hardware. Microsoft references higher accuracy, stereo imaging, improved voice recognition, support for four-player tracking, an improved RGB camera, and dedicated hardware processing.”

"In Kinect v2 we can continue to go beyond controllers and offer peripherals and accessories that heighten game immersion," it further adds.

The new Xbox may be scalable in the number of CPU cores and their frequencies. As per the document, "Microsoft appears to have been debating whether to use six or eight ARM or x86 cores clocked at 2GHz each with 4GB of DDR4 memory alongside three PPC cores clocked at 3.2GHz each for backwards compatibility with existing Xbox 360 titles."

More information on Kinect 2 will soon follow. Stay tuned.
