'General Hospital' Updates And Spoilers: Tyler Christopher's Termination Shocks Viewers; Will There Be A Recast For Nikolas?

"General Hospital" announced today that they are not renewing Tyler Christopher's contract, who took a hiatus from his role as Nikolas on the daytime series last May.

Early this July, the actor hinted at the "General Hospital" Fan Club Weekend event that he would be coming back to shoot this September, TV Line reported. But apparently, things didn't go well with his contract negotiations with ABC Network.

The problem is, Nikolas is involved in many active plots. Everyone in Port Charles might think he is dead but the viewers all know he's alive. But it seems like ABC has seen this coming as they temporarily casted Nick Stabile who made his final appearance as Nikolas in late July, TV Line also cited, to tie up some loose ends.

The production has the option of just leaving Tyler Christopher's character dead and just trash his story line, or revive him later after a recast. But it is clear that "General Hospital" might not want to remove another vital character after Sabrina Santiago (Teresa Castillo) will probably be killed off this week.

In "General Hospital" this week, Paul Hornsby (Richard Burgi) continues on his killing spree. He got his hands on Monica Quartermaine's (Leslie Charleson) and injected her with Derisifol. Luckily Sabrina Santiago finds her and tries to save her. But unfortunately for her, she's at the wrong place at the wrong time and will end up dead instead according to September 15 teaser.

Michael Quartermaine (Chad Duell), who is planning to propose to Sabrina, will be devastated about her death. Monica on the other hand, is barely alive on life support which makes it very easy for Paul to come back and attempt to kill her again. And the trial is spinning into a new direction as a new evidence surfaces, courtesy of Scotty. Will this new piece of clue get Julian of the case.

General Hospital airs Mondays to Fridays at ABC.
