Sony NSZ-GS7 Internet Player with Google TV Coming in UK and US in July

Sony NSZ-GS7 Internet Player with Google TV, which was unveiled in January at CES, is heading to UK and US. The new Sony device will be launched in the UK on July 16 and in the US on July 22 for $199.

Price has still not been specified for the UK but pre-orders for the set-top box begin today in both countries. The device will also be launched in other countries such as Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Mexico and the Netherlands, announced Sony.

"Expanding the reach and interoperability of the powerful Android platform with Sony's smartphones, tablets and renowned Audio & Video products, we are proud to continue our relationship with Google through the introduction of the new Google TV set-top-box," said Phil Molyneux, president and chief operating officer of Sony Electronics. "Entertainment content is available through so many channels and sites, and Google TV helps consumers easily find what they want to watch, listen to or play using familiar search engine technology, enhancing the viewer experience. TV will never be the same."

Sony's televisions have included Google TV set-top-box to offer a plethora of options to watch, play or listen to, using Google's familiar search technology. User can also enjoy Chrome browser on Google TV along with thousands of mobile apps available in the Google Play Store, watch YouTube with 72 hours of video being added every minute.

Moreover, Sony has packed in a powerful processor and an updated operating system and has also provided a backlit QWERTY keyboard Google TV remote along with a three-axis motion sensor for gaming and a touch pad for swift navigation.

The NSZ-GS7 Internet Player has two USB and HDMI ports, Ethernet, infra-red blaster, Wi-Fi connectivity and optical output ensuring superior data connectivity.

Pre-orders begin on June 25, 2012 at www.sony.com/sonygoogletv.

Additionally, Sony has announced to launch its newest Internet Blu-ray Disc player with Google TV, the NSZ-GP9. The player will be available at retailers in time for the holiday season, priced at $299.
