SIE Japan studio and genDESIGN are in the final stages of development for their newest PS4 exclusive title, "The Last Guardian", but due to unexpected bugs encountered, a game that was supposed to come out next month has been delayed again in its release. The Last Guardian will now have its launch on December 6, 2016.
Why It's Worth It
The Last Guardian, a direct sequel to "Shadow of the Colossus"; which was released in 2006, was first announced in 2009 at E3 but the game has been in development since way back 2007; already rounding the corner of a decade. The game has been delayed multiple times and the list of reasons why development has taken this long have stacked up in varying degrees of failure like issues with running the game smoothly on PlayStation 3 and then switching the development to PlayStation 4.
Having a game in development this long killed some hype, but the interest of gamers were renewed after SIE Japan permitted players to play and experience a 45-minute demo of the game in the PlayStation 4. You, as an ordinary young boy, will develop an unusual bond with a giant cat-dog-bird named "Trico" as he acts as your companion and protector through a "harrowing and emotional" journey.
The gameplay mainly revolves around climbing large creatures, including your giant bestfriend with a mind of its own, and even larger architectural structures. It also highlights puzzles as well as an engaging and emotional storyline.
As to why it'll be worth it, the most rewarding part of the game lies in growing your relationship with your adorable gargantuan bestfriend.
Demo Experience
Gamers who've played the demo however, claimed that they were still encountering glitches and a couple of issues like camera angles and rough actions. Some gamers were even frustrated at Trico for having a mind of its own, sometimes leaving you after getting distracted by food and being stubborn but I say therein lies the beauty of it as it gives you, the player, a more immersive lifelike experience.
